Draft European reflection text on the Europe of security and defense

The Justice and Peace France Commission is developing a reflection on the Europe of security and defense. This text is being produced with the help of a network of French academics, soldiers and politicians. The Commission thus intends to reflect on the construction of a genuine European defense policy.

Indeed, the 27 member states must be able to effectively face the security challenges of today's world. Public opinion, national parliaments, as well as the European Parliament must address the question of developing a European white paper on an integrated European defense policy. Military means would be a component of crisis management, but political and economic means would be favored for conflict resolution.
