Conference-debate: Aim for peace in Congo!

The Democratic Republic of Congo is going through a crucial period. The country is planning elections in 2015 and 2016. As electoral fever mounts, rebel groups continue to sow terror in the east of the country. The Congolese state and the UN peace mission are unable to sufficiently protect the population. On February 24, 2013, eleven African countries, the UN and the African Union signed a 'historic' peace agreement in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).

Flyerdebat_NL_FR.pdf What about the execution of this agreement? What is Belgium's position in the peace process? Can elections bring more peace? And what is the role of local organizations?
