Valériane Conference – Migrations and conflicts: from DR Congo… to Belgium?

2018_salon_valeriane_web.jpg

This year, Justice and Peace will once again be present at the Salon Valériane in Namur. We will have an information stand and host a conference on Saturday September 1st at 1 p.m. (Salle bleuet small hall).

Beyond the electoral question, the Democratic Republic of Congo is the scene of complex crises on the humanitarian, environmental, governance and fundamental rights fronts. What are the causes and consequences, particularly migratory, up to Belgium? How are NGOs and local civil society positioned? And finally, what possibilities for action are there for Belgian citizens?

It is through a combined perspective that the speakers will attempt to respond to these
questions, to your questions.

SPEAKERS

  • Gaëlle David of Caritas International
  • Agatha Smyth of the Justice and Peace Commission
  • Gilles Cnockaert of Caritas International
  • Timur Uluç of the Justice and Peace Commission
