This educational tool aims to provide relevant reading keys, accessible to all, to understand international conflicts. The objective is not to become conflict experts but to awaken everyone's civic awareness and solidarity in the face of the societal issues they raise.
DESCRIPTION
International conflicts are more complex than the majority of discourses disseminated through the media and by political leaders make it appear and, in the current flood of information, it is sometimes difficult to understand them. However, it is important to be interested in them as a citizen, particularly because they have repercussions at different levels of our societies.
This tool alternates between theoretical content illustrated with numerous examples and educational activities to address conflicts with young people. It is made up of three parts.
– A first part addresses basic notions of geopolitics and reviews the current international configuration and the struggle between the great powers. It ends with an analysis of Russia, as an example.
– A second part concerns the analysis of conflicts. After some general data, it focuses on the specificities of current conflicts compared to those which took place at the beginning of the 20th century.
– The third part offers a complete educational approach to analyze a conflict in class with students. It is illustrated with an analysis of the conflict in Ukraine, but the approach was designed to be applied to other international conflicts.
