Why engage in citizen advocacy?

The world in which we live is going through multiple crises and the challenges to be met are numerous: social, environmental, economic, etc. Faced with this context, questions can emerge (“what are the dysfunctions of the current system?”, “how to do it?” move things?”…). Sometimes, these can arouse indignation, or provoke very diverse reactions, ranging from revolt to paralysis.

Despite this, many citizens manage to overcome the feeling of helplessness that can overwhelm us in the face of the multiplicity of challenges we face. They are mobilizing and committing to change.

To achieve the desired changes, many actions are possible. There is in fact no single way to commit to accessing a model of society to which we aspire.

This booklet invites you to explore a lever little known to the general public but which proves appropriate and effective in bringing about change: political advocacy. This advocacy guide is presented as a toolbox outlining methods and advice for building a strategy and carrying out advocacy with political authorities, both at local and national And international.

Pursuing this objective in terms of citizen advocacy, fifteen tools will be presented to you.
