Description of the conflict and migration training
Based on the expertise of the two organizations, this training addresses the migration phenomenon in its entirety. It aims to offer you the tools to grasp the complexity of migratory realities and more particularly the link, not always obvious, which can exist between natural resources, conflicts and migrations.
In alternating presentations and participatory workshops, this training will provide informed content, varied educational tools, concrete avenues of action, as well as relevant reading grids to address the issue of migration and refugees with your students, your audiences, or your loved ones.
Course of the training day
The training is divided into 2 parts:
- “Beyond perceptions, facts”: Migration in the press, multiple causes of migration, conflict analysis, global look at migration (figures, host and origin countries, migration policies, etc.)
- “Beyond the facts, the realities of life”: 3 case studies corresponding to the “before-during-after” stages of migration: Conflicts linked to natural resources in DR Congo; migration routes and European policy; application for international protection, inclusion and living together in Belgium.
- A conclusion will address political and civic avenues to respond to migration issues. It will also enable collective reflection and suggest educational avenues to inform and raise awareness among young people.
For which audiences?
