Contemporary reading of the history of Belgium with Central Africa

Following up on the first conference, Justice and Peace, Organization for International Cooperation and Continuing Education, offers a contemporary reading of the history of Belgium with Central Africa.

This citizen reflection joins the news dominated by the celebration of the 60th anniversary of independence in Central Africa, the exchanges of correspondence between King Philippe and President Tshisekedi, The claim to Germany and Belgium for a sum of 36 million Euros as compensation for colonial damages by Burundi and the recent constitution of the commission of experts to guide the work of Belgian parliamentarians around the colonial debate, ….

With François Ryckmans, journalist and writer author of “Mémoires Noires” who will present the current situation and its origins with examples from today and from my reports (photos and maps) as well as reading keys for understand the GL region of today (history, geopolitics, sociological, economic, etc.), and Dieudonné Wamu Oyatambwe, political scientist and specialist in DR Congo who will provide a current analysis of Belgium's relations with Central Africa .

These interventions will be followed by a debate which will be moderated by Patrick Balemba (Justice and Peace).
