Formation citoyenne – “Conflits et ressources naturelles”

DESCRIPTION

Natural resources have always been the driving force of our societies. They allow us to (over)produce and (over)consume. However, a large part of them are non-renewable and could run out in the near future. In addition, their exploitation generates numerous negative impacts in the producing countries. Let's take stock of the different natural resources, their operating conditions, their current availability and forecasts for the future. Let's discuss together about sustainable society models to build!

1er module: from the role play Focus on Diamond, participants put themselves in the place of the different players in the diamond trade in DR Congo and become aware of the power relationships between them. We then extend the analysis to the case of DR Congo, its mineral resources and the link with the conflicts in the east of the country.

2e module: this module allows you to better understand what the term “natural resources” covers. We provide elements of analysis on the different resources: renewable energy resources (wind, air, sun, etc.), non-energy resources (crops, animals), and renewable non-energy resources (ore ores) and energy resources (gas, coal). , oil). What are the challenges for today and tomorrow?

3e module: the last module addresses the alternatives to implement for more sustainable management of natural resources. Time is dedicated to group work. We then discuss the concept of Low Tech and how it presents itself as an alternative to our over-consumption of natural resources.

AUDIENCE

This training is intended for citizens interested in these issues. It has a general scope; it aims to provide a general overview of natural resources, while offering a more specific focus on mining resources. We take care to alternate moments of theory and moments of joint work or putting into action.
