What responses do the Belgian authorities have to the recommendations of civil society?

The war in the DRC has officially ended since 2003. However, the populations of the east of the country still suffer regular episodes of violence triggered by armed military groups, rebels or the national army.

Several associations and specialists from the DRC explain the origins of this crisis and the mechanisms that maintain it to this day. There are also many who have issued relevant recommendations to the various authorities – Congolese or international, governmental or rebel – so that a peaceful solution can be found and the people of Kivu can live in peace and security. The Belgian authorities also got involved in these negotiations. Justice and Peace raises the question of the responses envisaged by Belgium to these concerns. 2007AnalysisThecriseauNorthKivueandtheresponsesfromBelgium.pdf
