For a (finally) effective Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

The major international conference to review the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons will be held in May 2010 in New York and will see the 189 member states debate this delicate issue for international relations. By ratifying this agreement in 1968, countries possessing the technology committed to completely abandoning their arsenal, while those not possessing it promised not to acquire it. More than forty years later, it is clear that the promises have not been kept.
