At the roots of these conflicts we often find land issues, as highlighted by the Arusha Accords which marked an important step for peace in the region... From mineral extraction in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to agricultural activities, the main sources of income for the majority of the population in Rwanda and Burundi, land remains at the center of the region's economic and social issues. <\/p>\n

\n<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15111\" src=\"http:\/\/demop.netbaz.be\/2021\/jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/jpg_conference_eurac.jpg\" alt=\"conference_eurac.jpg\" align=\"center\" width=\"424\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.justicepaix.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/jpg_conference_eurac.jpg 424w, https:\/\/www.justicepaix.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/jpg_conference_eurac-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 424px) 100vw, 424px\" \/><\/p>\n
The European Union (EU), its member states, and Switzerland, are present in these three countries with several programs intervening in the reform of land management systems, or in related areas, such as agriculture or land protection. the environment.
