Our wish is to be able to address the key elements of the transmission of the colonial past to younger generations, particularly through questions of generational trauma as well as the negative effects of ignorance that this past can have on social cohesion and living -together (the need for memory work).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Structured around the triptych \u201csee-judge-act\u201d<\/strong>, this conference will take place in a round table format (prepared question-and-answer time, then question-and-answer time from the public). Through this format, we will encourage interactions between speakers by relying on each person&#039;s responses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this, we will have the pleasure of welcoming 3 speakers to lead the conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Marie-Fid\u00e8le Dusingize, anti-colonial activist (her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mariefdusingize_\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">instagram here<\/a>)<\/li><li>Teacher. Pierre Verjans, doctor and honorary lecturer in political science at the University of Li\u00e8ge<\/li><li>J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Piolat, research and project manager at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bepax.org\/a-propos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BePax ASBL<\/a> (her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jeremie.piolat.la.morgue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">instagram here<\/a>)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This conference is in line with our training <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justicepaix.be\/en\/training-on-memory-work-and-reconciliation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cDecolonization, between memory and reconciliation\u201d.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-heading\">How the evening will go:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>6 p.m.: Doors open<\/li><li>6:30 p.m.: Start of the conference<\/li><li>8:30 p.m.: Drink<\/li><li>9:30 p.m.: late evening<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are expecting many of you for this conference on memory and reconciliation with Amnesty ULi\u00e8ge!
